Why we charge for the consultation
Most contractors will quote sight-unseen and bid against ten other contractors on a spreadsheet. That race-to-the-bottom is exactly how Pacific Northwest homeowners end up with sub-par work, shortcut materials, and a roof that fails in seven years instead of thirty. We don't participate in that race.
The $300 consultation fee is a filter. It signals to us that you're a serious project, not a tire-kicker collecting bids. It signals to you that we take the on-site visit seriously enough to compensate ourselves for the time. The fee is fully applied to your project if you book with us. If you don't book — for any reason, no questions asked — you receive $200 in Big Star credit good toward any future project. Either way, your investment in the conversation is recognized.
What you get

- A written quote within 48 hours of the visit, with materials specification, timeline, and milestone payment structure.
- License, insurance, and bond verification provided on request, with direct links to verify with WA L&I.
- Honest answers about whether we're the right contractor for your project. If we're not, we'll tell you who is.
